Adult Education is part of our church’s Mission. Through casual, relaxed small groups we seek opportunities for transformation through study, dialogue and discussion, and friendship with others of differing and varying views and beliefs.
We call our small groups COFFEE & CONVERSATION. Groups meet regularly to discuss topics in open, safe, and respectful dialogue. We welcome anyone who is open and accepting of conversations that are challenging, thought-provoking, and may not conform to traditional orthodox Christian beliefs. We believe we find grace in the search for understanding and believe there is more value in questioning than in absolutes.
COFFEE & CONVERSATION groups meet from September through May, taking summers off.
Small group meetings happen in different ways:
- In the Community – Once per month we meet at a local coffee shop or eatery on a weeknight at 7 PM. The location and date are announced in advance.
- In our Homes – Members host groups in their homes each month. The locations and dates are announced in advance.
- In our Church Building – On the 2nd Sunday of each month we meet in our church building’s Welcome Space at 9:45 AM (before our Worship Gathering at 11 AM.)
COFFEE & CONVERSATION is open to everyone, especially those outside our church walls. Through social media sites, like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Meetup, we invite the public to join our small groups. So each meeting is a mix of church members and non-members, people from all walks of life and from many religious (or non-religious) backgrounds with differing viewpoints that are valued, as well as appreciated.
