Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) is a day set aside annually to memorialize those who have been killed due to anti-transgender hatred or prejudice. Though a day of mourning for transgender persons who have lost their lives, TDOR is also a day to renew our commitment to stand with the transgender community whenever their rights and dignity as human beings are under attack. At COS UCC we are an Open and Affirming (ONA) congregation. We welcome and affirm all LGBTQ+ individuals, their families, and their friends. But I pray that we, and other faith communities like us, work to widen our welcome even further. That we place greater importance on educating ourselves and others on LGBTQ+ issues. And that we be stronger advocates for transgender and gender non-conforming individuals so we may put an end to the discrimination, hatred, and violence perpetuated toward them. — Pastor Paul Hackett COSUCC.org #TDOR #transawareness #transsupport #transadvocacy
